Trend Thursdays- boxy blouse

As warm weather starts to descend on New York, more and more of the tailored, clean, minimalist looks are appearing in real life.  The most wearable of these looks is the boxy blouse.

Wear this loosely fitting blouse with skinny pants or a fitted skirt for a classic big-over-small look.  Also, a long pendant necklace goes great with this look- and is right on the '70's trend!

If you haven't noticed over the past few months, fashion trends have been taking cues from prior decades.  High waisted pants, pendant necks, bright Southern California chic stripes, and maxi-length dresses; you could say that the 1970s are back in full force.

Trend Thursdays- Geometry

Academy of Art University Fashion Show

No no no... not that kind of geometry.  Think more "architectural construction," if you will, how different types of geometric shapes fit into fashion.

This season, bold geometric shapes and architectural construction ruled the runways. 

Neat, precisely cut drapes and folds mimicked some of the most famous buildings, as you can see in the following pictures. 

 Staying true to form, minimalist like Narciso Rodriguez and Calvin Klein perfected the look, while newcomers like Diane Von Furstenberg joined suit.

Trend Thursdays

If you don't already know, Saturday, January 15th is National Hat Day.  If this isn't a perfect post for a Trend Thursday's, well I dont know what is!
